Why Real Reformer Pilates Was Never Just a Trend

Over the last few years, reformer Pilates has grown rapidly in popularity. What was once still relatively unknown outside major cities has now become one of the most sought-after ways to move, strengthen and feel better in your body.

But long before reformer Pilates became a trend in our area, Anasa was already building something with depth.

From the very beginning, Anasa was created on strong foundations, rooted in the principles of STOTT PILATES® and a deep respect for the method. At a time when very few people in the area had even experienced reformer Pilates, we were already committed to delivering it properly — with precision, purpose, and a level of care that has shaped everything we do since.

We did not build Anasa around hype.

We built it around quality.

That meant creating a space where reformer Pilates was not watered down, rushed, or treated like just another fitness class. It meant understanding that real results come from intelligent programming, excellent teaching, consistency, and an environment where clients feel seen, supported and challenged.

It also meant investing in education from day one.

As one of the first studios in the area to bring this level of reformer Pilates to the local community, Anasa has played an important role in shaping the landscape that now exists around it. Over the years, we have trained and developed some of the first reformer Pilates instructors in the area — teachers who have gone on to grow in confidence, deepen their knowledge, and in some cases open studios of their own.

And we are genuinely proud of that.

Because for us, building a studio was never only about running classes.

It was about building a standard.

A team.

A culture.

A community.

Today, one of the things that continues to make Anasa different is the way our team is built.

In many studios, instructors often work across multiple locations, teaching under different systems, different expectations, and different standards. While that model can work, it can also make it harder to create a truly consistent client experience — one where every class reflects the same philosophy, the same level of care, and the same long-term focus on results.

At Anasa, we chose a different path.

We have built and continue to grow our own in-house team — a team we train, mentor, support and develop closely. Every instructor at Anasa is shaped through our teaching ethos, our standards and our attention to detail. That means clients are not walking into a different experience every time. They know they will receive a class that is thoughtful, challenging, safe, effective and aligned with the same values, whichever instructor is teaching.

That consistency matters.

Because inclusivity should never mean lowering standards.

And results should never come at the expense of care.

We believe Pilates should be welcoming, but also powerful.

Supportive, but also transformative.

Accessible, but still exceptional.

That is why our classes are designed to challenge people honestly and intelligently. We want clients to feel stronger, more capable, more connected and more confident in their bodies — not because they were pushed through a trend-led workout, but because they were taught well.

This commitment to quality is protected through ongoing education. At Anasa, team training does not happen once in a while — it happens every single month, throughout the whole year. We invest continuously in our instructors so that the standard never stands still. Technique, programming, client care, communication, observation and the finer details of teaching are all refined again and again, because excellence lives in consistency.

This is also one of the reasons Anasa has been recognised with multiple awards. Not simply because reformer Pilates is popular, but because quality is visible. It is felt in the class experience, in the strength of the teaching team, in the knowledge of the founders, and in the meticulous attention given to every part of the studio experience.

We have also worked hard to make that level of quality accessible.

With the biggest timetable in the area, and one of the biggest boutique reformer Pilates timetables in the UK, Anasa offers a wide variety of classes, levels and time slots so that more people can experience Pilates in a way that works for real life. And despite the level of care, training and detail behind what we do, we have always tried to keep our pricing competitive, because we believe exceptional Pilates should not be reserved for a small few.

Opportunity matters.

Access matters.

Community matters.

Anasa continues to evolve, but the heart of it remains the same: honest teaching, exceptional standards, strong community, and reformer Pilates delivered with real depth.

Because trends come and go.

But quality lasts.

See you at the studio
